“Putting Tomorrow’s Earth into Today’s Classrooms”

CTPSE has identified four broad themes of action and is currently developing near term objectives for the current year. Help us set and accomplish our goals. To get involved, simply check any of the boxes below next to the goals where you would like to support our efforts. Thank you.

1. Promote the integration of the U.S. Partnership for Sustainability (USP) standards into curriculum and instruction throughout our state.
• Identify and evaluate existing resources
• Map identified resources to the CT curriculum frameworks and USP standards
• Promote awareness of the USP standards and curriculum resources in CT schools
• Identify existing best practices within Connecticut

2. Strengthen the capacity of CPSE as an organization.
• Create web presence and membership communications
• Establish partnerships with other state organizations
• Draft initial strategic and business plan

3. Promote sustainability education through teacher training programs.
• Provide professional development opportunities for educators
• Establish dialogue with teacher education programs
• Establish dialogue with panel reviewing CT Competencies for Teachers (CCT)

4. Financial support for sustainability education in Connecticut.
• Establish funding sources for CPSE (e.g., membership, donations, grants)
• Act as a clearinghouse for information on funding sources for sustainability education
